Venture into the retail business

Together with CIFF and northmodern, Art Copenhagen and Code Art Fair have opened a pop-up store in Harvey Nichols. Watch our video about the collaboration here!

Code Art Fair, Art Copenhagen , CIFF and northmodern, have combined their exhibitors to create a retail platform that brings the best of Scandinavia to London. The pop-up store is located in Harvey Nichols’ special project area Project 109. The NORTH WIND store is open from October 6th to November 27th 2016.

The North Wind pop-up shop which is curated in collaboration with CIFF and northmodern  is offering a glimpse into the world of the typical Scandinavian man through fashion, furniture and design and art. The project gives smaller and up-and-coming brands a unique chance to be showcased at one of the world’s leading retail department stores. With this project, North Wind go directly from trade to consumer and thereby redefines and elevates the concept of trade fairs. Check out the video from the launch here.

A Little Hygge For The Holidays
The final phase that leads up towards Christmas from the November 3rd – 27th, introduces the Harvey Nichols customer to the concept of “hygge”; a deeply ingrained way of culture in Scandinavia. Entitled ‘A Little Hygge For The Holidays’ this concept will represent all those little and not so little things that Scandinavians do for themselves and for each other that take the edge of modern life, injecting a feeling of warmth and comfort that everyone deserves.

Supper Club

The phase will be introduced with a special supper club, taking place on November 3rd in the Wallpaper Bar + Kitchen located in Project 109 in collaboration with Frederik Bille Brahe, one of Copenhagen’s most buzzed about up-and-coming young chefs, and founder of Atelier September and restaurant Havfruen. Frederik will be creating signature dishes for the supper club. His mission is to elevate simple, everyday food with unique twists, challenging the customer’s expectations with a cuisine that breaks away from the current Nordic trends.

During the course of seven weeks, October 6th – November 27th, North Wind will feature special editorials with prominent Danish personalities such as SOS Sportswear founder, Ole Damm, chef, Frederik Bille Brahe, London-based stylist, Anders Sølvsten Thomsen.

The first phase was introduced by Fashion and Design Director, Kristian W. Andersen with an in-depth interview about the project. Ole Damm, the “Modern Viking” gives us his opinion on the North Wind must-haves. Frederik Bille Brahe selects his favourite items for the perfect holiday-gathering and Danish stylist Anders Sølvsten Thomsen gives us a tour of his favourite eateries in Copenhagen.

Phases

Modern Viking
The opening phase of NORTH WIND commencing October 6th and in place until the 21st of the month, takes a closer look at the ‘Modern Viking’; with a history steeped in intrepid explorers, fierce warriors and tales of Viking exploits on land and sea, CIFF, northmodern and Art Copenhagen will introduce the Harvey Nichols customer to what it means to be a Scandinavian male in today’s climate.

Scandis Behind Closed Doors
The second phase, running from October 22nd to November 2nd, looks a little deeper into ‘Scandis Behind Closed Doors’; they say you can tell a lot about a man by the way he dresses, CIFF says you can learn a lot more, from the way he dresses his home. Design is a part of Danish identity and no detail is too small to be overlooked.
